Control coupled run (ctl): 1960-1969
Filename convention:
rsm_year.nc, romssfc_year.nc
Initialization:
RSM: 1960:01:01:00 from NCEP RA1
ROMS: the end state (Dec. 30) of 20-year forced climatological spinup run.
Perturbation coupled run (pert1): 1960-1969
Filename convention:
rsm_pert1_year.nc, romssfc_pert1_year.nc
Initialization:
RSM: Same as ctl (1960:01:01:00 from NCEP RA1)
ROMS: 15days before (Dec. 15) the end state of 20-year forced climatological spinup run.
Coupling: daily exchange of
total net heat flux (shflux)   *
downward shortwave raditaion(swrad)
net freshwater flux (swflux, E-P)
surface u,v momoentum flux (sustr, svstr) **
* note only the total net heat flux is used from RSM using its PBL physics, without using bulk formula.
** No ocean current is considered in stress parameterization.

 
Each netcdf file contains RSM output variables read every 2 days.
