ASI summer school, Chile
ENSO - past, present, future
Course outline:
1. Class: ENSO phenomenology (mean climate, discovery of ENSO, ENSO
phenopmenology)
2. Class: Fundamental of ENSO dynamics (equatorial wave dynamics,
forced tropical circulations)
3. Class: Instability theory of ENSO (SST equation, Coupled modes of
ENSO)
4. Class: ENSO conceptual models, ENSO modeling (Delay oscillator,
recharge oscillator)
5. Class: Past and Future ENSO (ENSO proxies, ENSO's sensitivity to
climate change)
