Dear IAMS attendees,
The local organizing committee has prepared a
tentative agenda.
Please check if your paper is listed properly or not. In case we have
missed your submission, please notify Dr. Yuqing Wang (yuqing@hawaii.edu)
as soon as possible, but by no later than 01 January 2004. For those
who need a US visa, an invitation letter signed by Prof. McCreary has
already been sent out.
Duration of all INVITED talks, including
discussion is 20 minutes. For all ORAL presentations the duration,
including discussion is 12 minutes. The recommended size of POSTERS is
45 inch in width and 40 inch in height.
For all participants, accommodation in hotels
in Waikiki Beach or a dormitory within the University campus are being
worked out. Contact the hotels directly for reservations (details are
available in the next page). We can book the available rooms in the
dormitory on a first-come-first-serve basis only; please contact Ms.
Jeanie Ho (jeanie@hawaii.edu)
if you would like to book a dorm room.
You can travel from the Honolulu airport to
Waikiki by shuttle bus (about $8) or by taxi ($about $30). Information
about the shuttle bus is available in the Honolulu airport baggage
claim areas.
Also attached is a registration form for
IAMS-2004. Please fill it in and return to Ms. Jeanie Ho (jeanie@hawaii.edu)
by 15 January 2004. You are required to pay the registration fee of
$100.00 (US dollars) in CASH / Traveler's Check on arrival. No other
mode of payment will be accepted.
All participants are invited to the conference
dinner on Thursday, 19th February. The dinner is a “Sunset Cruise,” a
lovely boat trip on nearby island waters. For accompanying persons,
cost of the dinner is $35.00 each, much less than the usual price (http://www.robertshawaii.com/roberts/home.asp?menu=5%2E1%2E4&mscssid=ABM864V)

Hotels: We have an agreement with Castle
Resorts & Hotels to hold 25 rooms at the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel (444
Niu Street, Honolulu, HI 96815) at $55.00/night plus tax and 75 rooms
at the Royal Garden (440 Olohana Street, Honolulu, HI 96815) at
$75.00/night plus tax. A one-night deposit is due when making
reservations. Reservations can be made by contacting the Reservation
Department of Castle Resorts, either by phone or fax or email (both
hotels have the same contact numbers).

Hotel Cancellation Policy: Reservations
must be cancelled 7-days prior to arrival for a full refund.
Cancellations received within 7-days of the arrival date will be
subject to a late cancellation equivalent to one night’s room
rate.

Transportation: We will arrange bus
transportation to and from the hotel to the East West Center for
participants staying at the above Hotels. If you plan to stay
elsewhere, please make your own arrangements for transportation.
